'The Fruits of Evil' is a still life with durians. Durians are very peculiar fruits which are highly popular in Southeast Asia. The sketch for this still life was created during my Vietnam travels when I had the pleasure to look at some Durian trees in real life.
I remember how my parents tricked me into sampling Durian by promising me it would make me smarter or prettier. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any effects of it on my body or brain yet.
